Asthma and stress can be inextricably linked in many ways. In days of old, asthma sufferers might have been scoffed at with the attitude, “Oh, it’s all in your head…” because they found that asthma symptoms started up at times when they were feeling strong emotions, both positive and negative.

Today, we know that strong emotions can trigger asthma symptoms, but that doesn’t mean that stress and feeling stressed actually cause your asthma. It just makes it flare up. It is important, then, that people who have asthma learn how to cope effectively with stress if they want to keep their asthma symptoms under control. Luckily, we have a great new article on our site by guest author Carol Sorgen, from Lifewire! I think you’ll find the coping tips in Carol’s article to be really useful.
